Formula 1 teams

There are currently 10 teams on the Formula 1 grid, however, there have been many Formula 1 teams since the creation of the Formula 1 championship back in 1950

The 10 teams in Formula 1 have very interesting backgrounds and histories. There has only every been one team who has raced in every season of Formula 1 and that is Ferrari, who have raced since the second ever race in Monaco in 1950 

Below you can see how long each team have been in the sport and their previous names if they had any.

Scuderia Ferrari (1950 - Present) 

Mercedes (1954 - 1955), (2010 - Present). The current Mercedes team has been know as Tyrrell (1978 - 1998), British American Racing (1999 - 2005), Honda (2006 - 2008), Brawn (2009)

Aston Martin (1959 - 1960), (2021 - Present). The current Aston Martin team has been known as Jordan (1991 - 2005), Midland (2006), Spyker (2007), Force India (2008 - 2018), Racing Point (2019 - 2020)

McLaren (1966 - Present)

Williams (1978 - Present)

Sauber, known as BMW Sauber and Kick Sauber (1993 - 2018), (2024). The Sauber team became Alfa Romeo (2019 - 2023) as they came back after a 35 year absence.

Red Bull Racing (2005 - Present). The current Red Bull Racing team has been known as Stewart (1997 - 1999) and Jaguar (2000 - 2004)

Haas (2016 - Present)

Alpine (2021 - Present). The current Alpine team has been known as Toleman (1981 - 1985), Benetton (1986 - 2001), Renault (2002 - 2011 and 2016 - 2020), Lotus (2012 - 2015)

RB or Racing Bulls (2024)
